Join YPDA for our February meeting, featuring a Ranked-Choice Voting (RCV) training and mock election + updates from the 2020 legislative session.
You may have heard of Ranked-Choice Voting - the Democratic Party of Hawaiʻi is using it in its Presidential Preference Poll this year - but how exactly does it work? Is it secure? What is the benefit of RCV? All these questions will be answered, and we'll even play out a mock election between favorite local snacks. Only one treat will emerge victorious!
YPDA is looking for folks to help us educate the public about RCV at select neighborhood board meetings and tabling events in March. If you're interested in earning a stipend to help us build the groundwork for electoral reform in Hawaiʻi, make sure you don't miss this training!
We will also briefly discuss top stories coming out of the Hawaiʻi State Legislature's 2020 session. Dinner provided!
