Hosted by Celebrate Micronesia and Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum
“This year, the computer is our waʻa (canoe) and the celebration of our cultures continues in cyberspace, as the Celebrate Micronesia Festival moves to an online format due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The festival showcases traditional and contemporary art, dance, poetry, fashion and music of the people and cultures of the Republic of Palau, the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas, Guam, Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei, Kosrae, Kiribati and the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
There will be performances, poetry readings, demonstrations, fashion & cultural exhibits, live talks and panel discussions. This celebration is hosted by the Bishop Museum in partnership with Hawaiʻi-based Micronesian community leaders and organizations.
The festival will be held virtually and is free and open to the public. More details coming soon!
