Governor Ige is considering a veto for a much needed civil asset forfeiture reform bill the legislature passed this year. The police union and other powwerful lobbies seem to have convinced him that confiscating property from low-level offenders pretrial is somehow justice. YPDA is joining the ACLU of Hawaii, the Community Alliance on Prisons and the Drug Policy Forum of Hawaii in calling on the Governor to change his mind.
