Hearing important labor bills relating to houselessness, discrimination and graduate student unionization.

HB 1281, HD1: Establishes a three-year Work-for-a-Day Pilot Program that provides homeless individuals with work opportunities and connects them with service providers.  Requires the Governor's Coordinator on Homelessness to submit a report to the Legislature prior to the 2018 Regular Session on implementing the program. Appropriates funds. Testify on this measure.

HB 1489: Prohibits a state agency or program or activity receiving state financial assistance from excluding from participation, denying benefits to, or discriminating against a qualified individual by reason of disability, sex, including gender identity or expression, or sexual orientation. Testify on this measure.

HB 1277, HD1: Establishes a collective bargaining unit for graduate student assistants employed for a minimum of 20 hours a week by the University of Hawaii. Testify on this measure.
