The follow up to the first COMMUNITY JUSTICE DIALOGUE, held at the Kamakakuokalani Center for Hawaiian Studies on November 17, 2016, will focus on ALTERNATIVES TO INCARCERATION.
The input received at the first gathering was included in the comments and questions submitted on the O`ahu Community Correctional Center (OCCC) Environmental Impact Statement Preparation Notice (EISPN). The stateʻs responses to the questions and comments submitted will be in the DRAFT Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS), which will be published when they have finished answering all the responses.
Your voice is crucial in planning how Hawai`i will approach corrections and justice for the next century. As a community, we should ask ourselves - what is our vision for a safe, peaceful and just future? Bring your thoughts and ideas! All good planning is open, transparent, and inclusive. We are Hawai`i - we care for and about each other.
